  • 1 diced onion
  • 500 g ground beef
  • 1 tbsp garlic
  • 1 tsp salt and pepper
  • 1/4 cup tomato sauce
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 cup grated cheese
  • 1 cup pickles
  • Mustard
  • Puff pastry sheets

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 200C (400F).
  2. In a bowl, combine all the ingredients (except mustard and pickles) to make the beef mixture.
  3. Cut the puff pastry sheets in half.
  4. Spread a layer of mustard down the middle of each pastry half.
  5. Top with pickles, and then generously add a layer of the beef mixture.
  6. Roll up the pastry tightly, ensuring all the yummy fillings are enclosed.
  7. Place the sausage rolls on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
  8. Brush the tops of the rolls with a whisked egg or milk to help them brown nicely.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for approximately 25 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.
